Planting Seeds For Christ

Richard Thetford

The Hebrew writer states: “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever” (Hebrews 13:20-21). It is my hope and prayer that each one of us will have the desire to be complete in Christ, always striving to do His work diligently day by day. It is so good to be here to be able to work together, planting seeds for Christ here in the Montrose area!

I am looking forward to the work before me in the teaching and preaching of the gospel to the lost in this community. I truly believe that the fields are “white unto harvest” here in the greater Montrose area and I am very excited to have the opportunity to help bring these souls to Christ. We are given the responsibility to plant seeds and do the watering in order to allow God to provide the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6). I am convinced that if we will truly do our part, that God will certainly do His.

May we all strive to do the very best we can for and with each other as we labor together in God’s kingdom. If we will all diligently work together, this congregation will grow numerically and most importantly, spiritually. Let’s all keep the following encouraging words of the apostle Paul close to our heart during our time together: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
